The Desire for Peace

The Desire for Peace

Today many people would really like to experience peace in the world and importantly, in their lives. What many of us don’t realize, the message of peace is dependent on each of us doing our part. And doing our part each moment of every day. “How?” you might ask. It is very simple – and that’s often the reason people ignore it, because it isn’t a long process, it is short, easy to do.

To be the message of peace each day, begin your day by taking a few moments to focus on your heart and as you continue this heart focus, breathing a little deeper, recall a time when you felt love or appreciation for someone, some place  or some thing (such as a pet) that brings you joy. Once you recall that time, remember the feeling that you experienced and allow yourself, your body and mind, to “drop into” that feeling – just for a few moments. When you do this you increase the electro-magnetic energy that the heart generates and this extends out into the world around you. This energy sends love, kindness and peace which helps to create a more harmony in your life and a more harmonious world.

This process can takes only a few minutes – 2 – 5 minutes – or you may choose, once you are in this feeling to move into a longer meditation. And note, a five minute meditation is extremely beneficial.

As you move into your busy day that may bring frustration or challenges and may even get out of control from time-to-time, when this happens, pause for just a few moments to focus on your heart, (utilizing the quick process above and) you will then make better decisions coming from your heart than from your head, and you will move through the stresses in your life with less harmful effects on your mind and body.

This sends a message of peace not only to your mind and body; it flows out into the world.

From this heartfelt energy it is much easier to be kind . . . to be kind to you and to be kind to others. Everyone deserves kindness, especially those who are the greatest challenges in our lives. The more kindness you show them, the less of a challenge they will be.

Remember, it is up to you to be the peace, the change, you want to see in the world. If each of us would spend a few moments a day sharing heartfelt kindness, being that positive change, just imagine how much better our lives and our world would be.

“I am the positive change.”

Change in the air

Welcome and Happy Spring!

With Spring come many changes – usually melting snow and the change is a warmer than usual winter. It also brings trees and plants into full blossom which is a beautiful sight.

For us humans, there is also more change that is going on – - – it seems constant. Of course if we didn’t change we would basically die. Change is going on in jobs, relationships, foods available and lots, lots more.

Here are some thoughts on change:
Change arrives because you need to move forward, not retreat to the past.
The past is no longer relevant, we can only go forward with faith and trust that we are making choices that are in our highest and best good.
Ask yourself before making a choice or taking action, “Is this a wise choice or am I courting woe?” Woe is the choice to wait until your fears consume you in hopes the winds of change will pass you; the result of thinking others will take care of your problems or they will magically disappear. – - – Which you really know they won’t disappear!

What do you do then? Well, the possibilities are infinite and I recommend that you go to your heart with some focused breathing and know that you can handle any change coming your way with grace, courage and truth. Step into the change and learn to go with the flow.

Change is what makes the world go ’round.

The Chatter of Grace

The Grace of Kindness

You rely on your senses to control your external world; the power of Grace works to transform your world.

If you were to shed the fears that burden your ego, what would remain? A clearly intuitive person who responds effortlessly to others. This is because we are naturally drawn to others not away from them.

By releasing your ego, you are releasing fear and when you do that, you approach everyone and every situation from love – not the romantic definition of love, the love of care for others.

From my conversations with people about this topic, many say they cannot love people that are difficult (create challenges) in their lives – perhaps you feel the same way.

So I ask you, for those people and situations that are difficult, can you – no, better still, are you willing to take a step back, look at the persona and for a brief moment realize that this person is a human being just like you who may not have had some of the opportunities you have had, who might be dealing with circumstances in their lives much more difficult than yours and they are doing the best they can at this moment in time – - – just like you.

From this perspective, are you willing to at least be kind? By choosing the grace of kindness, you offer more goodness in our world.

As always, the choice is yours. Choose well.
